High performance stereo audio codec
The CS4282P is a 32-bit audio codec integrating a 2-channel ADC and a 2 channel-DAC, delivering 123 dB SNR on the ADC and 128 dB SNR on the DAC for high dynamic range audio capture and playback. The integrated ADC hybrid gain control reduces the external preamplifier circuitry, lowering BOM costs and simplifying audio system design compared to discrete ADC implementations. The integrated DAC includes proprietary adaptive filtering that maintains clarity, tonal accuracy, and consistent frequency response across a wide sample rate range from 44.1 kHz to 768 kHz. By combining high resolution ADC and DAC functions in a single audio codec, the CS4282P enables reduced component count, lower system cost, and smaller board area, while achieving full performance without requiring specialized low noise power supplies.

Selection Guidelines
The CS4282P should be selected when:
- Designing a system that requires a high SNR stereo ADC and DAC.
- Design resources are limited.
- Both audio input (ADC) and audio output (DAC) channels are processed on the same board.
- A symmetric channel count is required (2-channel audio ADC and 2-channel audio DAC, 2-in / 2-out audio codec).
- Synchronization multiple audio output channels is required.
- You would like to achieve multiple distinct audio signatures from a single DAC/ADC, utilizing selectable digital filters without hardware changes.
- Minimizing audio pop and/or click is critical.
The CS4282P should not be selected when:
- Audio ADC and audio DAC functions must be separated across different boards or system partitions. In this case the CS5302P (audio ADC) and CS4302P (audio DAC) should be considered.
- There number of audio inputs does not match the number of audio outputs. In this case the CS530xP (ADC) and CS430xP (DAC) should be considered.
- An integrated headphone or lineout driver is required. In this case the CS43131 should be considered.
